Do you have more questions regarding Polish adoptions? Are you looking for families in your area that have adopted or are in the process? Looking some advice or just need to talk with someone? The Polish Adoptive Parents Association (“PAPA”) is here to help. PAPA is a network of families throughout the United States that have either adopted from Poland or are in the process of adopting. It is really comforting to talk with other parents who have gone through the same experiences as you. Also to provide tips and advice to make your adoption a smooth and stress free experience.
Chapters are located in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia. Whenever five or more families in an area adopt through Huminska Anioly, Inc. a chapter can be formed. For those not living in the states where we currently have a physical PAPA chapter, we have established an on-line chapter.
Every summer each chapter has a picnic. All the families gather together for friendship and fun. Families in process are welcomed too. Food, games, laughter and fun are all part of this summer event. But PAPA chapters are more than just picnics. Parents get together several times each year to discuss issues and answer questions. It is sort of like a roundtable forum. Several chapters bring in guest speakers to talk about the adjustment and changes kids as well as parents go through before, during and after the adoption. And sometimes it is a parent’s night out. A chance for parents to go out on their own for dinner and an evening of quiet talk.
Families also have another resource on the World Wide Web. Just log on to www.adoptionspolish.com for the latest news and information from the PAPA chapters. Our web page is always changing with new links and information so you can check back time and again to see new and different items on the PAPA web site. Do you have something to share with other PAPA members? Send us an email at mhangels@adoptionspolish.com. The Polish Adoptive Parents Association is here to provide the support, answer your questions, and be a friend when you need one.
The Polish Adoption Parents Association congratulates all families who have adopted or are in the process of adoption.
